About Julie

Hi There! My name is Julie (she/her) and I’m so glad that you’re here. I’m a queer social worker and therapist but you might also just consider me a curious human being. I support people who long to feel more connected to their authentic self but who might feel overwhelmed or struggle to believe that this is possible. I will be there to walk alongside you on this journey towards self-discovery with a warm presence and genuine connection.

Sometimes we come to therapy knowing exactly what we want to work on and other times we might come to therapy knowing that there is something that doesn’t quite feel satisfying but we’re not exactly sure why or where these feelings are coming from. You know you want a more meaningful life and to have more fulfilling relationships yet you just don't know how to get there. I want to assure you that this is normal and absolutely welcome here. We live in a culture where we’re often expected to know the answer or have everything "figured out” when that’s just not realistic! I will invite you to slow down and encourage you to allow whatever is showing up in the moment to be ok. We will make space for you- all of you; just as you are.

I believe that we all hold a multitude of “parts” within us which contribute to making us who we are as individuals. Some of these "parts" are informed by past hurts and by our values, the things that matter most to us. As your guide, I will support you in enhancing your awareness of your inner world so you can cultivate curiosity, self-compassion, and connect to your own inherent wisdom. I believe in radical non-pathology which is the idea that there is nothing wrong with any of us. That we are whole and wonderful just as we are and that our struggles are a product of all that we have been through and not a statement of our worthiness as humans. This is the antidote to shame and I hold space with clients to unlearn and shed the stories that are no longer supportive for the life you want.

As Ample + Rooted's Chief Experience Officer (CXO), I also aim to cultivate a positive and nurturing experience at every touchpoint for our clients as well as provide a supportive workplace for our employees focused on their wellbeing.

I look forward to connecting with you soon and walking alongside with you on this journey!
