Desirability politics shape our perceptions of ourselves and others, influencing who we pursue and how we engage in relationships. From dating apps to social gatherings, the pressure to conform to conventional standards of attractiveness can be overwhelming, leading to feelings of inadequacy and exclusion for many individuals, and disordered eating behaviors.We'll explore how beauty standards show up in our sessions with clients and within our field in addition to exploring the loneliness that comes with defying conventional standards of desirability.
