Coming home to your body is an act of reclaiming desire and pleasure. There are many barriers that keep us from fully embodying our sexuality and fully experiencing liberation. We are taught from an early age whose pleasure matters (spoiler alert: it's not our own!) and we are given narrow definitions of what we "should" be doing with our bodies. Our sexuality is not static or rigid but rather shifts and morphs throughout our lifetime yet we rarely are given space and encouragement to explore what we desire and what feels good. The erotic is the antithesis to body shame and we'll explore how to support our clients in accessing their aliveness and their healing. As Audre Lorde writes, "recognizing the power of the erotic within our lives can give us the energy to pursue genuine change within our world".
